Robert's images offer a truly outstanding communication of both the natural world and the emotion that color photography conveys.In order to accomplish this Robert chooses to use only transparency type positive ( slide ) film.

Translating the inner beauty of slide film to the printed media is the most difficult of all the photographic processes in fine art photography. Robert uses a special class of photographic papers which allow direct printing from a positive image. They are characterized by the use of a metallic dye emulsion on a super glossy polyester base. These materials have a higher apparent color saturation, largely due to their extremely efficient reflection of light. Being polyester based, they exhibit improved light transmission and greater sharpness due to the absence of surface irregularities, as compared to normal "paper" based materials. This process provides the "pop" and brilliance that slide film exhibits and imparts a tremendous enhancement in color saturation.
